We had two great art installations available to view at Daisyfest in 2016. Please find information below. Plans are now being made for the next daisy festival. Sign up to our newsletter and join us on Facebook or Twitter to keep up to date with the latest developments.
Carnival Yarn Bombing
Members of The Grange’s Creative Arts & Textiles department have gained a name for themselves as ‘yarn bombers’ extraordinaire.
Known as ‘knitted graffiti’, yarn bombing involves wrapping objects such as benches and trees in colourful knitted and crotched squares.
Gill and Laura are seen here preparing knitted shapes for our yarn bombing installation at DAiSYFest.
One in Four
A team from Art Matters constructed an installation using hundreds of plastic spoons entitled One in Four. The piece reflected the statistic that 1 in 4 people have or will experience mental ill health. The spoons became strangely figurative as they gathered together, playfully interacting with the architecture of the building.
Attendees had the opportunity to create their own Spoon Daisy, either to attach to the building or take home.
