DAiSY: ReGrowth

DAiSY: ReGrowth programme
During 2020 DAiSY delivered an online programme called DAiSY:ReGrowth. The programme was designed and developed in response to Covid-19, as a central issue during the pandemic was how disabled and inclusive artists could continue to create while socially isolating.
Under the theme of ReGrowth DAiSY offered weekly arts, creative writing and dance fitness workshops online, with some offline activities also available. The programme was delivered by a talented group of artists and features workshops and tasks to keep you creative, fit and having fun!
Our intention was to keep people connected and making art, and generally put some positivity back into the world. The theme of ReGrowth felt powerful, with connotations of nature and rejuvenation. It was an opportunity to explore and enjoy the world around us, and look forward to better times ahead. DAiSY offered weekly arts, creative writing and dance fitness workshops online, with some offline activities also available. Through a series of weekly arts, creative writing and dancing workshops we reached over 500 artists, dancers and writers, who learnt creative skills and made new work.
In addition DAiSY delivered arts packs through letterboxes, offered online group sessions to DAiSY member organisations in each art form and launched a bursary programme, to support talented emerging artists to develop their work.
This project was made possible by funding from Arts Council England and Community Foundation for Surrey.
